DOVER INVITATIONAL:
GIRLS - 6TH -
Amanda Martin won the diving, and Maddie Breschi took
2nd in the 100 breast with a District qualifying time of 1:15.31. Maddie
joined her sister Allie, Cara Karper, and Katherine
Strahosky to take 2nd in the 200 free relay. The quartet also took
6th in the 200 medley relay. Abi Sheaffer swam to a 6th place
finish in the 500 free. Cheyenne Delp placed 5th in diving.

GIRLS 107 - JB 62:
The Girls won their first meet of the season behind the double win of Jen
Bullis (50, 100 free). Allie Breschi won the back
and Katherine Strahosky took the fly and notched her first
varsity win. Abi Sheaffer, Emily Hirschman, and Alyssa
Rowe each swam 2 best times.

BOYS 87 - JB 80: The
Boys bounced back from a 10-point loss to the Rockets last year with their first
win of the season. Mike Oplinger (200, 500 free) and Austin
Karper, who collected his first two varsity wins in the 100 free and
100 back, led the way. The Boys had to take the last relay to secure the win
and Karper, Wes Rowe, Mike Oplinger, and Owen Osborn
were up to the task. Also swimming well were Kyle Kingsborough, Chris
Porter, Elic Weitzel, and Kevin Charlton, who dropped
10 seconds in the 500 free to notch a second.

BIG SPRING: DEC. 11
GIRLS 91 - BS 95: Maddie
Breschi was
a double winner (IM, breast) winning her first varsity events to lead the Herd.
Jen Bullis won the 100 free, and Cara Karper, Lauren
Greenaway, Katherine Strahosky joined Maddie to win
the 200 free relay. Amanda Martin took the diving for the Herd's
only the1r win. The Girls swam 27 best times. Miranda Makowski swam
well dropping time in two of her relay events. Lauren Greenaway, Abi
Sheaffer, and Maureen Bullis also swam well for Carlisle.

BOYS 93 - BS 90: Wes
Rowe won the fly, Mike Oplinger
took the 500 free, and Austin Karper won the back for the Herd's
only individual wins. Going into the final relay the Boys needed a one-two finish
to win the meet. No problem. Karper, Rowe, Oplinger, and Owen
Osborn provided the one, and Kevin Charlton, Elic Weitzel,
Kyle Kingsborough, and Matt Butcher swam a heart-stopping
2nd to clinch the win. Butcher hung on to anchor the relay
and also swam to a 4th place finish in the 500 free to give the Herd some much
needed points. The Boys gave up 11 points in the diving but overcame the deficit
in the final events with a Kingsborough 2nd in the back, and
Chris Porter's 2nd and Jesse Herold's 3rd
in the breast.

GIRLS 57 - SC 124 - Amanda
Martin won the diving for
the girls' only win. The girls swam 21 best times led by Aeden Kelley,
Marissa Lamb, and Rose Brandberg with two apiece.
Katherine Strahosky swam well in the 100 free.

BOYS 47 - SC 128 - Austin
Karper got CSC's only win
in the 500 free going 5:18.34 and moving into the 10th spot on the all-time
Top Ten list replacing Adam Osborn. The boys swam 11 best times
with Wes Rowe getting two of them.

CENTRAL DAUPHIN: 12/17/08
- GIRLS 88 - CD 82 - This
meet went down to the 400 free relay with Emily Hirschman, Alyssa
Rowe, Lauren Greenaway, and Allie Breschi getting
the win. Breschi also won the backstroke, while younger sister
Maddie swept the IM and the 100 breast. The Breschi's
teamed with Katherine Strahosky and Jen
Bullis to win the medley relay. Bullis picked up
a pair of 2nd's in the 50 and 100 going 58.41. The girls swam 42 best times
with Lauren Greenaway, Hirschman, Maureen Bullis, Shelby Smith, Aeden
Kelley, Aubri Paetow, and Erin Doody each getting
several.

- BOYS 49 - CD 117 - The
boys dropped to 2-2 with the loss. Austin Karper was a double
winner taking the 100 free and the 100 back, going a 59.40 to qualify for
Districts. The illness-plagued boys swam 17 best times with Kyle Kingsborough,
Kevin Charlton, Marshall Anders, and Ryan McDilda getting
two pb's each.

NORTHERN: 12/18/08
- GIRLS 81 - NORTHERN 105: Amanda Martin
scored 215.80 in six dives to win the event and move into 3rd place on the
Herd's all-time diving list just behind Margaret Norris (Finkbeiner)'s
242.35 ) and S. Cogan's 240.05. Carlisle's only other win was notched
by Allie Breschi in the back. The girls swam just 13 best
times.

- BOYS 88 - NORTHERN 79: Austin Karper
won the only two individual
events for Carlisle taking the 100 free and back. CHS racked up nine 2nd's
and five 3rd's as its depth proved too much for the Polar Bears. The boys
had only 6 best times, but improved to 3-2 on the young season.

SOUTH WESTERN: 12/23/08
- GIRLS 63 - SW 119: Amanda Martin
again won the diving with a personal best 230.30, and Allie Breschi
(back) and Maddie Breschi (breast) were the only
other firsts for the Herd. Swimming only 18 best times, the girls fell behind
early and never recovered. Lauren Greenaway, Natalia Calzada, Alma
Omerovic, Melanie Mollack, Erin Doody, and Miranda Makowski
all swam personal bests.

- BOYS 73 - SW 109: Austin Karper won
the 100 free and swam a 58.83 in the back to lead the boys who recorded only
9 best times. The boys got a lot of 2nd's but couldn't match SW's speed. Marshall
Anders and Matt Butcher each had two best times,
and Xavier Barnes and Kyle Kingsborough
both swam well.

BIG SPRING BASH: 12/30/08
- GIRLS 2ND: The Herd
girls swam 38 best times but placed no higher than 4th (200 and 400 free relays)
in any event. Maddie Breschi took a 4th in the breast and
a 5th in the IM, while sister Allie finished 5th in the 200
free and 6th in the back. Jen Bullis notched a 4th in the
100 free. Melanie Mollack and Miranda Makowski
each swam 3 personal bests. Also swimming well were Kim Kastriba,
Cara Karper, Alma Omerovic, Maureen Bullis, and Marissa Lamb.

- BOYS 5TH: Austin Karper placed
2nd in the back and 3rd in the 500 free to pace the boys who swam 19 best
times. Matt Butcher and Tyler Williams both
swam 3 best times with Trevor Heckendorn and Ryan
McDilda each getting 2. Kevin Charlton swam a personal
best 6:07.56 in the 500 to get 10th. Also swimming well were Owen
Osborn and Mike Reynolds.

CUMBERLAND VALLEY 1/7/09
- GIRLS 65 - CV 105: Jen Bullis (50
free, 100 free) and Allie Breschi (back) were the Herd's
only winners. The team swam 28 best times with Miranda Makowski
getting 3. Bullis's 58.00 in the 100 free qualified for Districts.
Erin Doody swam a pair of BT's as did Alma Omerovic.

- BOYS 35 - CV 135: The
boys' goal was to keep it under 100 and they did it. Austin Karper
got two wins in the 100 free and back. Jesse Herold
qualified for Mid-Penn's in the IM, and Mike Oplinger and
Kevin Charlton both went under 6 minutes in the 500 free
for the first time. Matt Butcher, Marshall Anders, and Mike
Reynolds each swam 2 BT's.

MECHANICSBURG: 1/8/09
- GIRLS 63 - M-BURG 107: CHS
swam tired notching only 8 best times with Aedie Kelley and
Marisa Lamb getting 2 each. Maddie Breschi was
Carlisle's only winner taking both the IM and breast. Abi Sheaffer,
Carina Hanks, and Miranda Makowski got the other
BT's.

- BOYS 60 M-BURG 110: Austin Karper
again was CHS's only
winner taking the 100 free and back. The Herd swam only 10 BT's with Trevor
Heckendorn, Tyler Williams, and Marshall Anders
each getting 2. Owen Osborn swam well getting a 56 in the
final relay.

CEDAR CLIFF: 1/13/0
- GIRLS 111 - CC 74: Allie Breschi,
Maddie Breschi,
and Jen Bullis were double winnersand joined with
Cara Karper and Katherine Strahosky to win
the 200 free relay. Maureen Bullis and Alyssa Rowe
scored important places in the IM, 100 free, 500 free and back to help pace
the Herd. Miranda Makowski swam 2 BT's.

- BOYS 88.5 - CC 67.5: Austin Karper,
Mike Oplinger, and Jesse Herold
were winners for the boys, but the Herd's depth pulled it out. Owen
Osborn swam a great 50 free race and notched a 55 in the 100
free, while Matt Butcher scored 2 BT's.

- GETTYSBURG: 1/15/09
- GIRLS 79 - G-BURG 91: the
girls swam 32 best times with Allie Breschi and
Katherine Strahosky getting the Herd's only wins in the back and
fly. Miranda Makowski swam 3 best times. Erin Doody,
Saige Gribble, Aeden Kelley, Maureen Bullis, and Shelby Smith
getting 2 apiece. Abi Sheaffer qualified for Mid-Penns in
the 200 free.

- BOYS 86 - G-BURG 81: This met went right down
to the final relay with Austin Karper, WEs Rown, Mike Oplinger, and
Owen Osborn getting the big win and help the boys even their
record at 5-5. The boys swam 30 best times with Karper winning
the 100 free and back, Oplinger winning the 200 free, and
Osborn taking the 50 free. Osborn and Trevor
Heckendorn had 3 BT's apiece, while Dillon Paetow, Marshall
Anders, Xavier Barnes, Ryan McDilda, Tyler Williams, and Chris
Porter each had 2.

MANHEIM INVITATIONAL: 1/17/09
- GIRLS 2ND: Maddie Breschi set
a meet record in the 100 breast with a 1:13.97 and took 3rd in the IM to lead
the girls. Jen Bullis got 2nd in the 100 free and 3rd in
the 50 free, Allie Breschi grabbed 2 3rd's in the 200 free
and back, and Katherine Strahosky picked up a 5th in the
fly. The girls swam 26 BT's with Aedie Kelley, Alyssa Rowe, Kim Kastriba,
and Alma Omerovic getting 2 each.

- BOYS 4TH: Austin Karper got
2 3rd's in the 100 free and back and a 5th in the fly to lead the boys.
He also hit his 25 seed time on the nose to pick up a special prize. Owen
Osborn took 3rd inn the 50 free and 5th in the 100 free, and
Jesse Herold placed 4th in the IM. The boys swam 17 best
times with Kevin Charlton, Tyler Williams, and Xavier
Barnes getting 2 each.

HERSHEY: 1/20/09
- GIRLS 54.5 - HERSHEY 125.5: The
girls swam only 4 best times against the Trojans, and Amanda Martin
won the diving with Cheyenne Delp taking 2nd. Jen
Bullis, Katherine Strahosky, Allie Breschi, and Maddie Breschi
combined to win the 400 free relay.

- BOYS 36 - HERSHEY 139: Austin Karper
won the back, and Jesse
Herold took 3rd in the IM while nobody else place above 4th. The
boys swam 7 best times with Ryan McDilda getting 3 of those.

CDE: 1/27/09
- GIRLS 118 - CDE 46: Allie Breschi
and Jen Bullis were double winners and Maddie Breschi,
Emily Hirschman, and Cara Karper won single events.
The girls swam 25 best times led by Miranda Makowski with
3. Carina Hanks, Marissa Lamb, Bella Micelli, had 2 each.
The 400 free relay team of Jen Bullis, Katherine Strahosky, Maddie
Breschi, and Allie Breschi qualified for Districts.

- BOYS 124 - CDE 28:
CHS had 3 double winners, Mike Oplinger, Austin Karper, and Owen
Osborn, and two single winners, Wes Rowe and Chris
Porter. The boys are 6-6 on the year and swam 18 best times with Marshall
Anders and Ryan McDilda gertting 3 each. Oplinger,
Kyle Kingsborough, Xavier Barnes had 2 each. Porter's win
in the breast was his first varsity win.

- GIRLS 85 - C-BURG 85:
Jen Bullis won
the 50 and 100 free, Katherine Strahosky won the fly, and Maddie
Breschi took the breast. The Herd got a big boost by winning the medley
relay with Allie Breschi, Strahosky, Erin Doody, and Bullis.
Trailing 77-75 going into the final relay, the Herd needed
a 1st and 3rd to win. The A relay of Bullis, Lauren Greenaway, Allie Breschi,
and Maddie Breschi got the win, but the B relay DQ's
even though it had a comfortable lead for 3rd, and Chambersburg got the tie. For
the second meet in a row Miranda Makowski swam 3 personal best
times as did Jen Bullis. Alyssa Rowe, Maureen Bullis each had
2. The girls swam 26 BT's.

in the 100 free and back. Xavier Barnes swam 3 personal bests.

10 seconds in the 200 free, and 15 in the 500 free. Chris Porter also
swam well for CHS.

BOILING SPRINGS: 2/3/09
- GIRLS 71.5 - BS 113.5:
CHS took 4 events with Amanda Martin winning the diving,
Jen Bullis the 100 free, Allie Breschi the
back, and Maddie Breschi the breast. The girls swam 11 best
times with Alma Omerovic getting two. Abi Sheaffer
dropped 3 sec in the 500 free. Miranda Makowski
kept her streak of best times alive with another one, and Rose Brandberg,
Alexa Bryant, Alyssa Rowe, and Carina Hanks swimming
well.

the Herd's only win in the 100 back as the boys swam only 5 best times. Jesse
